When Marty discovers Doc was shot in 1885 by outlaw Bufford Tannen he takes a photo and decides to travel back to 1885 and warn the Doc. As Marty and Doc work to rectify the situation the photo changes but they have to be careful as the name one the stone can easily be replaced.
